Ukraine’s armed forces have made a strategic advancement by reclaiming the eastern village of Andriivka in Donetsk, an area partially under Russian occupation. The village, situated south of Bakhmut, was seized by Russian forces in May after months of intense conflict.
A Facebook post by the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine reported, “In the Bakhmut direction, the enemy persists in attempting to breach the defense of the armed forces of Ukraine in the Bohdanivka area.”
“In response, the Ukrainian defense forces initiated offensive actions and achieved partial success in the Klishchiivka area,” it added. “In a successful assault operation, they regained control of Andriivka, inflicting significant losses on the enemy in terms of manpower and equipment.”
