In a recent revelation, a prominent reality TV star has emerged as the mastermind behind a message employed by former President Donald Trump to target “liberal Jews,” whom he accused of detrimentally impacting America.
On the occasion of Rosh Hashanah, the Jewish New Year, and the commencement of the High Holy Days, Trump stirred controversy by posting a message on his Truth Social platform. This message, listing five ways in which Trump claimed to have benefitted Israel and the Jewish community, was authored by Siggy Flicker, a former star of Real Housewives of New Jersey and a long-standing supporter of the former president. Flicker originally shared the flyer across her various social media platforms.
In her post, Flicker lauded Trump for his decision to relocate the U.S. Embassy in Israel from Tel Aviv to Jerusalem, boldly asserting that “no other president had the b**** to do it.” She also highlighted Trump’s recognition of Israel’s sovereignty over the Golan Heights and settlements in Judea & Samaria, also known as the West Bank.
Furthermore, Flicker emphasized Trump’s signing of the “Never Again” Education bill into law, a legislation aimed at providing funding for Holocaust awareness initiatives. The flyer concluded provocatively, branding Trump as “clearly one of the greatest antisemites of our time.”
Upon sharing the post, Trump added a message of his own: “Just a quick reminder for liberal Jews who voted to destroy America & Israel because you believed false narratives! Let’s hope you learned from your mistake & make better choices moving forward! Happy New Year.”
In the wake of the ensuing controversy, Flicker has staunchly defended her original message. She boldly declared on social media, “Yes, I wrote the entire thing. Very proudly, loud and proud!” She also confronted online trolls who criticized her and the former president.
Flicker’s response to critics was assertive: “Liberal entertainment media is triggered today because President Trump reaffirmed my post! Who is going to tell them that labeling the most pro-Israel president and the greatest friend to the Jewish people as an antisemite is baseless? No reasonable person listens to these media outlets anymore!” She conveyed this message in capital letters on her Instagram.
She continued her defense with a challenge: “Try something else against the wall…It might stick! I doubt it! American liberal Jews are inadvertently contributing to their own challenges. How can anyone who has accomplished so much for the Jewish community be labeled an antisemite?”
As of the current political landscape, Trump leads the race for the Republican presidential nomination. Simultaneously, he faces a staggering 91 criminal charges across four indictments. His history is fraught with controversial statements about the Jewish population in the U.S., including his 2019 assertion that American Jews who vote for Democrats either display a “total lack of knowledge or great disloyalty.”
Trump has also faced criticism for his comments characterizing the neo-Nazis in Charlottesville, Virginia, in 2017 as “very fine people.” Notably, he dined with Holocaust denier Nick Fuentes and Kanye West following the rapper’s series of antisemitic comments.
