Xeeis —Emma Corrin, widely recognized for their roles in Netflix’s “The Crown” and the streaming giant’s feature “Lady Chatterley’s Lover,” has joined the growing list of celebrities embracing the “pantless” fashion trend, making a bold statement at the Venice Film Festival.
During her attendance at the Italian label Miu Miu’s “Women’s Tales” film event, Corrin donned look 48 from Miu Miu’s fall/winter 2023 collection. Her outfit featured a green knitted cardigan paired with matching green underpants, a striking departure from the traditional red carpet attire.
While Corrin’s daring fashion choice made headlines, they are not the first celebrity to step out in their underwear recently. Supermodel Bella Hadid was photographed last fall wearing what appeared to be boxer briefs in public, and Lil Nas X made a memorable appearance at the Met Gala in May, clad in a metallic G-string.
It’s worth noting that Corrin, who prefers they/them pronouns, earned a Primetime Emmy nomination in 2021 for their portrayal of Princess Diana in “The Crown,” specifically in the Outstanding Lead Actress in a Drama Series category.
The 2023 Venice Film Festival, which commenced on Wednesday, features premieres of highly anticipated films from acclaimed directors such as Bradley Cooper, Sofia Coppola, Yorgos Lanthimos, Michael Mann, and Ava DuVernay.
The festival’s opening film, “Comandante,” directed by Edoardo De Angelis and starring Pierfrancesco Favino, known for his role in “The Traitor,” is an Italian period drama.
