Conservative commentator Brandon Tatum has openly criticized Colorado Representative Lauren Boebert following her removal from a Denver theater during a performance of “Beetlejuice” on September 10. Boebert, a Republican congresswoman, was asked to leave after receiving complaints from members of the audience.
A video later surfaced, showing Boebert vaping in her seat, using her cellphone, and appearing to engage physically with her date. Initially, Boebert denied vaping but later issued an apology. She also revealed that she had canceled all future date nights and humorously commented that she had learned to “check party affiliations before going on a date.”
Further controversy arose when it was revealed that Boebert’s date, Quinn Gallagher, is reportedly a Democrat and co-owns an LGBTQ+-friendly bar known for hosting drag shows—an aspect that contrasts with Boebert’s political positions.
Brandon Tatum, a former police officer, addressed the incident on his YouTube show, “Lets Get Into This!!,” expressing his concerns and calling out Boebert’s response. Tatum stressed his commitment to candidly discussing issues within his own political circle, highlighting his non-hypocritical stance.
Tatum accused Boebert of portraying herself as a victim during an appearance on One America News, where she criticized the media for focusing on her theater incident rather than more pressing national matters. Tatum questioned the prioritization of such personal matters amid critical issues facing the country, including impeachment inquiries, government funding, border security, and international crises.
He criticized Boebert for not maintaining focus on the broader national agenda and suggested that her actions were inadvertently providing ammunition to her political opponents.
Tatum also pointed out the absence of questions by One America News regarding the theater incident and its implications, including Boebert’s association with a Democrat who co-owns an LGBTQ+-friendly establishment, which contrasts with her stance on LGBTQ+ issues.
In his critique, Tatum highlighted the importance of upholding integrity and adhering to established policies, such as refraining from using cellphones in certain settings.
Tatum emphasized his own commitment to maintaining a responsible public image, particularly when in the public eye. He expressed frustration with the reluctance to hold individuals accountable within his own political sphere, asserting that he consistently evaluates his actions and decisions.
